Palmloyal.com - Sprint and Palm Pre-pare for Launch on May 31

A lot of people are make PRE-dictions of when the Palm Pre will be launched by Sprint. Most have guessed that the launch day will be on a Sunday as Sprint is known to do.

Many PRE-dicted dates have come and gone without the PRE-miere of the device. Many are now indicating that Sprint will try to PRE-empt the release of Apple's new OS upgrade, version 3.0 and possible new device announcements at the Apple World Wide Developer conference in San Francisco for June 8-12th, 2009. So they think the release date will be Sunday, June 7, 2009. They are wrong.

The launch will be a whole week prior to that guess. The actual date for the PRE-launch is Sunday, May 31, 2009 as revealed to me from a Sprint contact that asked to remain anonymous for obvious reasons.

This date makes a lot of sense as it provides Palm and Sprint with an entire week to promote and sell they device before Apple makes any announcements.

My Sprint contact stated that the "pressure to release this device quickly is unbelievable". This long time employee of Sprint has never seen this type of anticipation for a device from Sprint and is excited for what it may do for their momentum this year.

He talked about the employees being trained on the devices so that new Palm Pre owners can schedule times with employees to have one on one training with the new device.

He works at the Sprint headquarters and his buddy has one as a beta developer of the Pre. He had the Pre in his hand first hand and he definitely had his "salesman" language down pack as he talked about the "Riverock" and other terms that is part of their training for the new product. He concluded that this will be a huge "shot in the arm for Sprint and Palm"

So we will have a whole week to enjoy our new device before any Apple announcements and/or releases.
